Market Weighton Tennis Club welcomes players of all ages and abilities. Whether you’re a complete beginner, striving for top club standard or are just wanting to socialise and make new friends, we have something for you!
We have a range of different activities, from local league tennis to popular social events helping you make the most of your local tennis club! We have weekly club nights from April to September which are great for practicing and playing different opponents, monthly tournaments for a little bit of competition, league matches for regular competition and a vast coaching programme for improving.
We’re located in a secluded area just off of Holme Road, surrounded by beautiful green scenery giving a lovely tranquil setting! Despite the peaceful setting, we always have different events going on with a good atmosphere and vibe!
Our coaching programme offers a comprehensive range of sessions for both adults and juniors, catering to all ages and ability levels. Bringing expertise and enthusiasm, our sessions are led by professional coaches Dave Thompson and Cheyenne Fee. With sessions running five days a week, there’s something to suit everyone and plenty of opportunities to get involved!
We have three recently renovated hardcourts which are floodlit, and three of the best grass courts in East Yorkshire, maintained by our dedicated groundsman John from JMS Lawn Maintenance. The hardcourts are fit for purpose all year round and with newly installed floodlights in September 2024, allowing you to really make the most of the club throughout the year – the grass courts are simply a pleasure to play on throughout the summer.
In 2022 our new purpose built Club House opened providing excellent facilities for players, spectators and tennis camps.
As an LTA registered venue that has ERCAS status, your safety at the club is our priority and we have all the correct policies and procedures in place to ensure a safe environment.
Becoming a member gives you full access to our courts and all of our facilities, as well as invitations to our social events and discounted rates off coaching.
If you’re considering trying tennis, don’t hesitate to give us a go – there’s no need for you to commit to a membership straight away, you can always visit us and have a go beforehand. It’s first time free to a club afternoon, but if that doesn’t suit, you can always get in touch to organise a taster! You can come along to a coaching session, Sunday tournament or even come along and watch a match on either a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday evening- we’ll always be happy to see you!
