About
We are a small and friendly club, located in a secluded area on Holme Road, Market Weighton. We have six tennis courts- three all weather hard courts available for use year-round, and three of the best grass courts in East Yorkshire, perfect during the summer months!
In September 2024 we had floodlights installed on the 3 hard courts extending the winter playing tennis season. Floodlit tennis is available Mon – Sat up to 8pm November – February and up to 9.30pm March – October.
Established in 1921, we have a long history and our Holme Road base has seen many changes over the the years. In recent years, the club has seen the resurfacing of the hardcourts, the installation of new perimeter and security fencing, ensuring the safety of all those using our fantastic facilities.
Our new clubhouse was completed in April 2022, this facility provides a great area for members and visitors to socialise, watch the tennis and also enables tennis camps to be run whatever the weather.
Our primary aim is to provide excellent tennis facilities for our members and visitors. We welcome anybody who wants to pick up a racket, give tennis a go and most importantly enjoy themselves.

Welcome to Market Weighton Lawn Tennis Club! Established in 1921 and nestled in the beautiful Yorkshire Wolds, we’re thrilled to offer a wonderful range of facilities for tennis lovers. Our 3 pristine grass courts are open from April to September, and we have 3 hard courts available year-round.
Our brand-new clubhouse, opened in 2022, offers fantastic facilities, and in September, we made another exciting upgrade—adding floodlights to our hard courts! This means we can extend our playing season and provide even more opportunities for coaching.
Speaking of coaching, our program, led by Dave Thompson from dt-tenniscoaching.co.uk, has something for everyone. Whether you’re a junior, a beginner, or an experienced player, we’ve got you covered with group sessions, individual lessons, and even a fun “coaching and cake” morning for a more relaxed social option. We also offer Cardio Tennis for those looking to get fit while having fun!
If competitive tennis is your thing, we’ve got plenty of opportunities for that too! We compete in the Driffield League with 4 Men’s doubles teams, 4 Ladies’ teams, and 4 Mixed teams playing every week. We also have 2 Men’s teams in the York League, and this year, we’re excited to add a Mixed Team to the Hull & District League.
Throughout the year, we host various tournaments, social events, and fundraising activities, so there’s always something happening at the club. Not a member yet? No problem! We offer pay-and-play options, which are easy to book online.
